The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro launches the 6th generation on GM's Alpha platform, bringing a 190-pound weight reduction and wider front and rear track compared to the 5th gen. The base LT trim with LTG 2.0T four-cylinder uses 18x8-inch wheels with a 5x120mm bolt pattern and 65.1mm hub bore — note the hub bore changed from the 5th gen's 66.9mm, a critical detail when reusing older wheels. Stock RS and LT: 20x8-inch front and 20x9-inch rear at ET+35/ET+37, running 245/40R20 and 275/35R20. The V8 SS ships with 20x8.5 front and 20x9.5 rear with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R summer performance tires. Brake architecture: base SS uses a 355mm four-piston Brembo at the front, requiring 18-inch minimum and at least 82mm caliper clearance on aftermarket fitments. The 1LE package bumps to a larger Brembo six-piston front and Brembo four-piston rear — this combination requires specific spoke geometry to avoid caliper ear contact; flat-spoke designs often fail fitment at ET+30 or shallower. 6th-gen front strut geometry creates a hard clearance limit at ET+20 front — shallower than that and the strut damper body contacts the inner barrel at full lock. Rear multi-link independent suspension is more predictable than the 5th-gen solid axle — clearance behaves consistently through suspension travel. Safe aftermarket window: ET+25 to +37 front (20-inch), ET+25 to +38 rear. Widest confirmed rear without modification: 275/35R20.
