Running a 2500 stall in my auto Challenger Hellcat and wondering if I should go higher. Car makes peak torque at 4200rpm. Currently going 10.8 @ 129mph. A few people suggested 3200-3500 stall. How do you calculate the right stall for your torque curve and what did you gain going from stock?
After 3 years of building I finally went 9.87 @ 138.4mph in my 2016 Camaro SS. Full build: LS3 stroked to 427ci, Procharger F1X, custom cam, ported heads, full BMR suspension, 275 Mickey Thompson ET Street Rs all four corners, Powerglide. Tune by Nick at Revolution Motorsports. This car is absolutely bonkers. Happy to answer questions on any part of the build.
Looking to upgrade from stock shocks on my Camaro SS. Are QA1 or Viking adjustable shocks worth $1800-2400 over just doing a stock replacement? I run the strip 15-20 times a year but also daily drive. Will I feel a meaningful ET improvement or is this more of a feel/handling upgrade?
After 6 years and hundreds of strip runs I put together a beginner prep list. 1) Check tire pressure — run 32-35psi on street tires, 18-22psi on drag radials. 2) Check fluid levels. 3) Empty your trunk and rear seat. 4) Disable traction control completely. 5) Warm up tires with 2 hard launches in the staging lane before your first timed run. 6) Stage shallow to reduce reaction time. 7) Breathe — your first run will be scary fast.
Finally took my 2021 Hellcat to the local strip for the first time. No prep, street tires, manual transmission. Best pass of the night was 11.2 @ 124mph. I was absolutely shocked at how fast this car is bone stock. A few guys on drag radials are running 10s. Any tips for getting into the 10s? Should I start with drag radials or suspension first?
