Curious what tire pressures everyone runs on drag radials at the track. I'm on 305/35R18 Mickey Thompson ET Street Rs on my Camaro SS. Currently trying 22psi cold and getting a bit of spin on the 60ft. Should I go lower? Heard some guys go as low as 18psi. What's your setup and what pressure works best?
See a ton of confusion in fitment discussions about backspacing vs offset vs ET rating. They all describe the same thing differently. Here's the breakdown with actual formulas. Backspacing = distance from mounting face to back of wheel. Offset (ET) = distance from centerline to mounting face in mm. If your wheel is 10 inches wide (254mm), a +50 offset means the mounting face is 50mm outboard of center. This is why backspacing and offset are wheel-width dependent.
I'm about to order 305 ET Street Rs for my Challenger Hellcat. My plan is to daily drive on them — about 8000 miles a year. Has anyone done this? How do they handle in the rain? I live in Texas so snow isn't a concern. Main worry is highway stability and wet traction.
Building a 1969 Camaro and targeting the widest possible tire on 17 inch wheels. Need good backspacing options — ideally 5.5-6 inch for the rear. Looking at Forgeline GA3, Weld RT-S, and Boze forged. Anyone have real-world experience with these brands on classic muscle cars? How's the quality and customer service?
Ran both tires on my Camaro SS over the past year — 3000 street miles and 40 drag strip passes on each. ET Street Rs hook harder but wear significantly faster and get sketchy above 90mph in the wet. NT555 G2s are much more streetable, last longer, and still post solid 60ft times. For a street/strip daily the NT555 G2 is my pick. Happy to answer questions on specific setups.
Looking to fit 315s on my 2015 S550 without any fender modification. Currently on stock suspension. Tried 18x11 +44 offset and had rubbing at full lock. What offset are others running successfully? Would love a full list of combos that work without rolling or cutting.
